Children's Classes

C1: Kindergarten class for children of age 3 to 5 years, independently of their knowledge of German. The language is practiced through songs, arts & crafts, and play, using a variety of methods and regular repetition.
C2-C4: From beginner German to advanced, these classes use a German textbook and supplemental materials, including videos and music. Children will learn how to read, write and speak in German. Songs, poems and arts & crafts for traditional holidays make for a lively atmosphere while students learn about the cultures of the German-speaking countries.
Exams and Recognition: The School offers a choice of exams and diplomas to earn recognition in both, the US and European educational systems;
- AATG Test (American Association of Teachers of German) This test is for High School students having completed 2, 3 or 4 years of German language instructions. Details at: www.aatg.org/student-programs
- AP Test (Advanced Placement Test) administered by the College Board. The test is for High School Students wanting to earn credits for admission to colleges and universities. (PLEASE NOTE: GS Fremont does not offer this test on a regular basis but can refer students to other schools to take the class & test).
- DSD (Deutsches Sprachdiplom) various levels of tests are available. The tests are conducted at the School under the supervision of a German Government Official. With DSD-II students meet the language prerequisites for admission to universities in Austria, Germany and Switzerland and are able to study there at substantially lower (local) tuition compared to US universities.
